Experiment: Control of a Bending Tool
The control system built for the previous experiment can also be designed using a monostable 5/2 directional control valve, to control a bending tool, for instance. In that case, the first cylinder would be used to put one bend a workpiece that had previously been clamped, then the second cylinder would put in a second bend. In this case the control circuitry for each cylinder needs to include latching capability.
